Volunteers

We have seen considerable expansion and growth at the 63rd Scout Group over the past couple of years as the group has been able to make the most of the fantastic new facilities and reach out and support more and more young people.

The group now runs two Beaver colonies, three Cub packs and three Scout troops, providing a fantastic opportunity for over 300 young people to experience and enjoy what the Scout Movement can provide.

We are also able to support other organisations from the Movement, the 88th Guides and Brownies and a number of local businesses, organisations and the wider community from a facility that is well run and managed by an effective and enthusiastic Executive Committee.

With the help and support of volunteers from many different backgrounds, we have built up a fab community at the 63rd, and it’s both rewarding and fun to be a part of. We want it to continue; to continue to change, to continue to grow and to continue to be successful.

We would like to invite you to get more involved with the fun and activities here at the 63rd Bristol. Not only do we have particular vacancies in certain sections on particular nights, we also welcome more involvement broadly across our sections.

We’re looking for parents who can encourage our young people to take that leap, make that jump, get up and carry on regardless. From map reading to crate stacking it’s all about having the confidence to give it a go! We welcome everyone; you may be entirely new to scouting, or you may remember being a cub, scout, brownie or guide sometime in the past. Full training and support is provided, and with our flexible approach you can devote what time you can afford

We would ask those of you interested, even those of you who are just a little bit interested, to consider the Four Week Challenge! The Four Week Challenge is a test drive of Scouting. It’s a try-before-you-buy with no commitment to see if volunteering in Scouts is right for you.

  1. Come along and see what we do

  2. Help out at a session

  3. Get a little more involved

  4. Decide on whether you want to join our team
